Wool Scrub Sponge
Available in single, 2-Pack + 6-Pack

Conventional sponges are made from synthetic materials that shed microplastics into your water with every use, harbor bacteria, and end up in a landfill within weeks. This is a different kind of scrub entirely — made from a single natural material that gets better with use, lasts up to a year, and composts when it’s done.

Coarse wool is naturally antimicrobial and antifungal, which means it resists the odor and bacterial buildup that makes conventional sponges smell within days of use. Its moisture-wicking structure allows it to dry quickly between uses rather than staying damp — the primary condition that allows bacteria to multiply. As the wool felts with use, it actually becomes denser and more scrubby over time, gaining cleaning power rather than losing it. Versatile enough for dishes, surfaces, face, body, and produce.

Each scrub is handmade from wool grown on a regenerative family farm in the USA where sheep live on open pastures and are seasonally sheared. The wool is washed and crafted without bleach processing. The farm holds Climate Beneficial™ certification from Fibershed, verified through a certified Carbon Farm Plan that prioritizes long-term land stewardship over short-term yield — meaning this sponge is not just plastic-free, it’s actively carbon-capturing at the source.

Why we love it:

  • Made from 100% natural coarse wool — no synthetic materials or microplastics
  • Naturally antimicrobial and antifungal — resists odor and bacterial buildup
  • Moisture-wicking construction dries quickly between uses
  • Becomes denser and more effective with use as wool felts over time
  • Lasts 6 months to 1 year with proper care
  • Versatile — safe for dishes, surfaces, face, body, and produce
  • Fully biodegradable and compostable at end of life
  • Handmade on a Climate Beneficial™ certified regenerative farm in the USA
  • Produced without bleach processing

Scrub care: Wash with soap and warm water after each use and air dry. Can be run through the dishwasher, though this may shorten lifespan to around 4 months. Do not machine wash. Periodic sun exposure further sanitizes and helps restore color. Compost when worn thin.

Thoughtfully sourced: The sheep who produce this wool spend their entire lives on open pastures on a family farm that has been certified Climate Beneficial™ by Fibershed. This certification is backed by a verified Carbon Farm Plan that ensures farming practices prioritize land health and long-term climate impact. The wool is seasonally sheared, then washed and handcrafted into scrubs without any bleach processing — from pasture to your kitchen with full transparency at every step.

Native Manor Note: The kitchen sponge is one of the most microplastic-intensive objects in the average home — used daily, in direct contact with dishes and food surfaces, and replaced frequently with another piece of plastic. Swapping to a wool scrub that lasts up to a year, composts at end of life, and comes from a farm actively sequestering carbon is one of the more complete swaps available in a low-tox kitchen.
